Road infrastructure administration

Beneficiary: Ministry of Transportation, Italy

The main activity field of Geospace consisted in building road databases, including the following activities:

–    Plan – the altimetic reconstruction of the street antispean axis including the data referring to road names and to progressive distances for each road segment;
–    Association of georeferenced video resources with the reconstructed road graph;
–    Identification, localization and measurement for all recognizable and relevant objects;
–    Measurements for all road dimensions (carriageway width, shoulder width, panel sizes etc.)
–    Creation of a relational database to include all above described information;
–    Optimization of data use and management by integrating the database into a Geographic Information System.
